”Wonderful Places to Be”
Amateur photographers only.
Prints can be 5 X 7, 8 X 10 or up to 16 X 20 inches.
Prints must be mounted on poster board or mat board with name, address and phone number on the back side.
NO HARD FRAMES
Photographs can be Black and White or Color (Limit 2 entries per person)
DEADLINE: Thursday July 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Enter pictures at the Merchants Building.
AWARDS: The first two places will be awarded a $50 bond. Special ribbons for other places.
Judge: The judge used will be from the open class photography.
All photos entered will be put on a special display during the fair.
Other 4 by 6 inch pictures may also be entered in the Jefferson County Fair’s Open Class Photography Contest. There is an adult and a youth division and both color and black and white pictures can be entered. There are 20 different categories. Premiums will be given as well as numerous prizes donated by area businesses.

The Miss Jefferson County Pageant is a Scholarship program that provides a scholarship for a women's education after a year-long reign of service to the community of Jefferson County.
Contestants must be available from July 8th-14th. Practices will take place Monday and Tuesday at the high school. Wednesday, July 10th, contestants will read an essay on their community service as well as participate in an interview with three judges.The pageant will take place July 11th at the Fairbury High School this part of the pageant will be evening gown and on-stage question. Miss Jefferson County will be crowned that evening at the fairgrounds. The new Miss Jefferson County will need to be available to participate in fair activities the following days. The newly crowned Miss Jefferson County will have the opportunity to receive up to a $1000 scholarship.
In order to be eligible to compete you must have completed your freshman- senior year of high school, live or attend school within Jefferson County, be single (not married), and without children.
Upon crowning- Miss Jefferson County will be asked to sign a contract adhering to Miss Jefferson County Rules.
